編髮梵志謂舍利弗言：“惟賢者莫呼是佛國以為不淨。我見釋迦文佛國嚴淨，譬如彼清明天宮。”舍利弗言：“我見此中亦有雜糅，其大陸地則有黑山、石、沙、穢惡充滿。”編髮答曰：”賢者以聞雜惡之意，不猗淨慧，視佛國耳。當如菩薩等意清淨，倚佛智慧，是以見佛國皆清淨。” |

爾時螺髻梵王語舍利弗：“勿作是意，謂此佛土以為不淨。所以者何？我見釋迦牟尼佛土清淨，譬如自在天宮。”舍利弗言：“ 我見此土丘陵、坑坎、荊蕀、沙礫、土石、諸山、穢惡充滿。”螺髻梵言：“ 仁者心有高下，不依佛慧，故見此土為不淨耳。舍利弗！菩薩於一切眾生，悉皆平等，深心清淨，依佛智慧則能見此佛土清淨。” |

爾時持髻梵王語舍利子：“勿作是意，謂此佛土為不嚴淨。所以者何？如是佛土最極嚴淨。”舍利子言：“大梵天王，今此佛土嚴淨雲何？”持髻梵言：“唯舍利子！譬如他化自在天宮，有無量寶功德莊嚴。我見世尊釋迦牟尼佛土嚴淨，有無量寶功德莊嚴，亦復如是。”舍利子言：“大梵天王！我見此土其地高下，丘陵、坑坎、毒刺、沙礫、土石、諸山、穢惡充滿。”持髻梵言：“唯大尊者！心有高下不嚴淨故，謂佛智慧意樂亦爾，故見佛土為不嚴淨。若諸菩薩於諸有情其心平等，功德嚴淨，謂佛智慧意樂亦爾，便見佛土最極嚴淨。” |

Then the Brahmā Śikhin said to the Śāriputra the Elder: Honourable Śāriputra, do not say that the Buddhakṣetra of the Tathāgata is impure; the Buddhakṣetra of the Blessed One is pure. Brahmā Śikhin replied: On my part, Honourable Śāriputra, I can see that the splendour of the Buddhakṣetra of the Blessed Lord Śākyamuni equals the splendours of the dwellings of the Paranirmitavaśavartin gods. The horns, precipices, peaks, and chasms, and all filled with filth. If you see the Buddhakṣetra being so impure, it is because there are rises and dips in your mind, O Honourable Śāriputra, and because you have certainly not purified your intentions in the knowledge of the Buddha. On the contrary, those who possess sameness of mind regarding all beings and who have purified their intentions in the knowledge of the Buddha can see the Buddhakṣetra as being perfectly pure. |

那時，編有髮髻的梵天對長老舍利弗說了這話：“ 賢者舍利弗！不要說如來佛土不清淨。賢者舍利弗！世尊的佛土實是清淨的。譬如自在天宮殿的莊嚴，我們看見世尊釋迦牟尼的國土，其功德莊嚴也是如此。” 於是長老舍利弗對編有髮髻的梵天說了這話：“梵天！我們看到大地，高低起伏，充滿荊棘、深坑、大山、高峰、洪溝、糞便和汙穢不淨。”編有髮髻的梵天說道：“ 無疑是賢者舍利弗〔你〕的心高低不平，不依靠清淨佛智，因此看到那樣的佛土。賢者舍利弗！那些對一切眾生有平等心，依靠清淨佛智的菩薩們，他們看到這個佛土是清淨的。” |
